Our history

Mvimwa Holy Spirit Abbey is a community founded in 1979 and built upon a passion for the faith, prayer and work. In brief, “Ora et Labora”, but also “to serve the Lord with joy”. Together with another 51 Monasteries around the world, it is part of the St. Ottilien Congregation, which is of German origin.
